Another major spiritual and musical event is set to captivate members of the Church across the United States of America, as Region C of the USA Diocese, under the leadership of Venerable Superior Evangelist Joseph Awosika, prepares to host its much-anticipated Regional Cantata on Saturday, 16th May 2026. The glorious event will take place at 12832 Chadron Avenue, Hawthorne, California 90250, with proceedings commencing at exactly 2:00 PM.
Speaking ahead of the highly anticipated gathering, VSE Joseph Awosika explained that the essence of the Cantata is to demonstrate the importance of praise and worship unto God, while also strengthening the spiritual bond, unity, and fellowship among members of Region C and the entire USA Diocese.
According to him, music remains one of the strongest pillars of worship in Celestial Church of Christ, as praises open doors for divine visitation, healing, testimonies, and spiritual upliftment.
VSE Awosika further emphasized that the Cantata tradition is deeply rooted in the history and doctrine of the Church. He noted that Cantata began 61 years ago at CCC Yemetu Archdiocese Parish, Ibadan, Oyo State following a special request made by the Choir to the Pastor Founder, Reverend Samuel Bilehou Joseph Oshoffa, who graciously approved that such spiritual musical gathering should always be held on Saturdays.
He stated that the Choirs in Region C of the USA Diocese are faithfully following the strict instruction and spiritual pattern laid down by the Pastor Founder by organizing the Cantata on a Saturday, as originally established in the Church.
In his words, VSE Awosika described Cantata as more than an ordinary musical programme, stressing that it represents spiritual revival, evangelism through hymns, unity among brethren, and an avenue to glorify God through inspired celestial melodies.
He passionately called on all Celestial faithful, lovers of gospel music, and residents across the United States of America to attend the programme, assuring that the event will reflect the true spiritual perspective and heavenly significance of what Cantata represents in Celestial Church of Christ.
“Cantata is not just about singing; it is about ministering unto God with a pure heart. It is a spiritual gathering where praises ascend to heaven, burdens are lifted, souls are refreshed, and the presence of God is felt mightily among His people,” VSE Awosika stated.
He further explained that attendees should expect an atmosphere filled with powerful choral renditions, deep spiritual worship, unity among parishes, and manifestations of God’s glory through songs of praise.
The Regional Head also encouraged youths and choir members within the USA Diocese to remain committed to the heritage of celestial music, noting that Cantata continues to preserve the spiritual identity, discipline, and musical excellence of the Celestial Church worldwide.
As anticipation continues to build, members and invited guests are expected to gather in large numbers for what promises to be a memorable celebration of praise, worship, unity, and spiritual revival in the USA Diocese.
