On the 23rd of December 2023, a significant round table meeting took place at the residence of the Pastor in Imeko, Ogun State. The purpose of the gathering was to address the termination of appointment letter and disclaimer position that had been issued to Prophet Paul Makayi, widely known as St. Paul about two weeks ago.
The meeting was attended by individuals such as M/S/E Ajao, M/S/E Akindoyin, V/S/E Ayodele, V/S/E Adeniyi, V/S/E Adjovi, V/S/E Obinyan, V/S/E Tosho Oshoffa, A/V/S/E Olisa, Prophet Makayi, Sup/Evang Ajala, M/S/E Solomon Oshoffa, others and the Pastor himself who presided over the proceeding.
Lasting for approximately five hours, the meeting commenced at 9pm. It was called in response to the concerns raised by members of Celestial members who sought a clear explanation regarding the authority behind the uncertain and uncoordinated decision to penalize Prophet Makayi, while it a clear fact that Prophet Makayi had earned a reputation among the younger clergies within the Church.
During the meeting, A/V/S/E Olisa presented compelling evidence to support the allegations made against Prophet Makayi. The evidence was carefully analyzed and submitted to the accuser. In response, Prophet Makayi vehemently condemned and rejected the authoritarian approach that had tarnished his name in the eyes of Church members worldwide.
Prophet Makayi emphasized the importance of the Pastor Office presenting their findings on the alleged illegal certificate. He firmly maintained that he never accepted money from any clergies or parishes without promptly remitting it to the appropriate authority. Despite the injustice he faced, he demonstrated his loyalty by bringing a substantial sum of 1 Million Naira as an offering (IPIN) to the 2023 Convention for the parishes. However, the Pastor Office only returned a meager amount of #25,000 as a token of appreciation for his service.
Prophet Makayi further insisted that the Pastor Office should disclose the identity of the individual responsible for issuing fake certificates on behalf of the Pastor Office, he said the information would prevent members from engaging in any business transactions with such individuals.
As the discussion opened up for others to contribute, a silence fell over the room. V/S/E Adjovi then courageously criticized the investigative approach taken in the matter. However, V/S/E Tosho Oshoffa promptly instructed V/S/E Adjovi to refrain from commenting as his response did not align with the issue at hand.
It was then clear that no further opinions would be expressed on the matter. V/S/E Tosho Oshoffa took the opportunity to assert the Pastor’s position, accusing Prophet Makayi of accepting money from two clergies for an anointment exercise.
Prophet Makayi vehemently denied these allegations, stating that he never accepted any money from the clergies. Instead, he insisted that the two clergies should provide their certificates for anointment before proceeding with their investiture. In response, the two clergies agreed to follow the proper procedure by re-applying.
When the Pastor decided to share his views on the subject matter, he expressed a keen interest due to the involvement of a particular individual. As the Pastor delved deeper into his perspective, M/S/E Solomon Oshoffa alerted the Pastor of his presence causing the Pastor to fall silent. Despite arriving late to the meeting, M/S/E Solomon Oshoffa requested that the Pastor direct questions about the Anointment Exercise money specifically involving Prophet Makayi in his presence. He emphasized that he did not want to be left in the dark about any further meetings that could potentially tarnish his reputation.
Prophet Makayi, in his position, demanded an explanation for the treatment he had received, including the attack on his reputation. He requested names and evidence to support the allegations, which sparked a variety of opinions and discussions. However, both V/S/E Tosho Oshoffa and A/V/S/E Olisa admitted that Prophet Makayi was not involved in the Edo State Venerable Saga.
The Inconclusive allegations against Prophet Makayi prompted M/S/E Ajao and M/S/E Akindoyin to kneel before the Pastor, pleading for the reinstatement of Prophet Makayi. Despite their previous silence during the discussion, their heartfelt plea influenced others to join them in kneeling, urging the Pastor to reconsider the punishment imposed on Prophet Makayi.
In response, the Pastor promised to further investigate the matter, including the involvement of Evang Yomi & a popular figure known as PDP who is closely associated with M/S/E Solomon Oshoffa.
