Rev. E.M.F. Oshoffa has called on all parishes of the Church worldwide to dedicate the 6th Edition of the New Moon (Watch Night) Service scheduled for Thursday, 4th June 2026, to fervent prayers for Nigeria.
According to the directive, members are encouraged to seek God’s intervention as the nation continues to grapple with numerous security challenges, including killings, banditry, kidnappings, and other acts of violence affecting communities across the country.
The Pastor emphasized the need for members around the world to unite in prayer for peace, protection, stability, and divine restoration for the nation. He noted that at a time when many families are experiencing fear and uncertainty, the Church must stand in the gap through intercession and supplication.
Particular attention is expected to be given to the safety of innocent citizens, especially children who have become victims of abductions and insecurity in different parts of the country. Members are also encouraged to pray for government authorities, security agencies, traditional rulers, and community leaders as they work towards addressing the challenges confronting the nation.
The monthly Watch Night Service remains one of the significant spiritual exercises in our church, providing members with an opportunity to seek divine guidance and blessings at the beginning of every month.
As worshippers gather for this month’s service, the focus will not only be on personal petitions but also on collective prayers for Nigeria, asking God to restore peace, protect lives and properties, and grant the nation lasting progress and prosperity.
“If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face… then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.” — 2 Chronicles 7:14.
