The modernization of administrative system in religious organizations like Celestial Church of Christ allows the spiritual head to appoint individuals who can adopt specific styles to effectively carry out their duties and run their office.
It is widely known that Church Constitution does not provide for the attachment of individuals to the Pastor as Personal Assistants. However, the increasing responsibilities have led the Church to adapt and appoint staff members to assist the Pastor.
The establishment of Personal Assistants in Celestial Church dates back to the time of the founding Pastor, Rev. SBJ Oshoffa. He appointed Sup. Prophetess Florence Igbalatayo as his first Personal Secretary to help with administrative tasks during the Church’s evolution, likewise Late A A Bada who appointed Late Baba Akande has his Personal Assistant during his time.
The appointment of Evang Solomon Oshoffa came about due to a betrayal of brotherhood by the current shepherd of CCC Ketu International Headquarters Lagos V/S/E Tosho Oshoffa. Tosho Oshoffa declared himself has Pastor while still serving as the Personal Assistant to his brother Rev. EMF Oshoffa. The declaration of Tosho Oshoffa as Pastor was rejected by the Board of Trustees led by M/S/E Banjo. The Oshoffa family also released a press statement distancing themselves from Tosho Oshoffa’s actions.
Evang Solomon Oshoffa holds the position of Personal Assistant to our Church’s Pastor Rev. EMF Oshoffa who also happens to be his brother. Generally, Solomon Oshoffa has consistently stood by the Pastor’s side, offering unwavering support in various circumstances. As the first point of contact for the Pastor, his sudden absence has left majority of Celestial skeptical and concerned.
Most Senior Evangelist Solomon Oshoffa The recent emergence of VSE Tosho Oshoffa who always accompanies the Pastor has sparked controversy due to his simultaneous occupation of two distinct roles within the Church. While VSE Tosho Oshoffa continues to serve as the Shepherd of CCC International Headquarters in Ketu, Lagos. He has also positioned himself alongside the Pastor during every gathering. This conspicuous absence of Evang Solomon Oshoffa was particularly noticeable when he traveled to the United States immediately after the Pastor’s return from a three-month anointment tour of Europe and the USA.
Despite his return from the USA, Evang Solomon Oshoffa was noticeably absent from the Harvest celebration at CCC International Headquarters. Furthermore, he did not accompany the Pastor’s entourage to River State. Regrettably, no explanation has been provided regarding his sudden disappearance from his duties as the Pastor’s Personal Assistant.
It’s imperative that we approach this matter with discerning mindset. The absence of Evang Solomon Oshoffa and the simultaneous presence of VSE Tosho Oshoffa warrant further investigation and clarification. As members of this congregation, it is our duty to seek transparency and understanding in order to uphold the integrity and unity of our Church.
