The family of the late Venerable Superior Evangelist is still struggling to come to terms with his passing, describing his departure as a painful loss that has created a great vacuum within the family circle.
Speaking emotionally about the demise of his brother, the Shepherd of Celestial Church of Christ Fountain Parish, Toronto, Canada Venerable Superior Evangelist Jide Salako, reflected on the remarkable life and enduring legacy of the deceased, noting that the memories they shared together remain unforgettable.
According to him, the late VSE Olabode Salako was more than a brother; he was a friend, mentor, and unifying figure who consistently created time for the family despite his personal commitments.
“I will miss everything about him because I could not imagine him leaving us,” he said emotionally. “Life comes with challenges, and God helped him through many of them.”
Recalling events from the late 1970s, VSE Jide Salako narrated how members of the family accompanied his brother to the international airport in Lagos when he was travelling to the United States of America in search of greener pastures.
“From the moment he arrived in the United States, he never forgot the family. He remained in constant touch with us through regular calls and support. Eventually, other members of the family joined him abroad, and the family bond only grew stronger,” he recalled.
