Celestial Church of Christ Providence Parish, Rhode Island, USA marked its 38th Adult Harvest Thanksgiving on Saturday, 16th August 2026, in an atmosphere of thanksgiving and spiritual celebration.
The harvest, themed “Harvest of Royal Priesthood”, was anchored on 1 Peter 2:9, which speaks of believers as “a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people.”
The occasion brought together members of the parish, church leaders and distinguished guests to celebrate God’s faithfulness and the growth of the parish over the years.
The Head of the CCC USA Diocese, AMSE Joseph Olorunnisola, delivered the sermon, emphasizing the spiritual significance of the harvest and the responsibility of Christians to live as representatives of God’s kingdom.
The Parish Shepherd, VSE Olusegun Fetus Otele, also acknowledged the importance of the 38th Adult Harvest, noting the need for members to remain committed to God and continue to support the work of the church.
Also speaking at the occasion was VSE Victor Adewusi, a member of the parish and Secretary of the USA Diocese, who appreciated the significance of the harvest and the blessings that God has continued to bestow upon the parish.
A major highlight of the celebration was the presence and goodwill associated with Dan McKee, Governor of Rhode Island. McKee, a member of the Democratic Party, has served as the 76th Governor of Rhode Island since 2021, after previously serving as the state’s 69th Lieutenant Governor from 2015 to 2021.
His association with the celebration added further significance to the occasion as the Providence Parish community marked another milestone in its journey of faith, service and thanksgiving.
The 38th Adult Harvest Thanksgiving therefore served not only as a moment of gratitude to God, but also as a celebration of the enduring presence and contribution of the Celestial Church of Christ community in Rhode Island.
