The Berlin Conference of 1884-1885 was supposed to resolve conflicts between European powers vying for control of Africa. Instead, it resulted in the arbitrary division of the continent, allowing European nations to exploit its resources and people. The true agenda, hidden from Africans, was for Europeans to plunder Africa for their own gain.
In a similar vein, Chief Obafemi Awolowo’s meeting with Colonel Emeka Ojukwu in Enugu on 6th May 1967 was a pivotal moment. They solidified their declaration of independence, signalling unity in the face of adversity. This show of solidarity gave hope to the Eastern Region in their quest for self-determination. Political analysts viewed the meeting as a strategic move to challenge the Eastern Region’s agenda.

Celestial Church of Christ has faced leadership challenges since the passing of its Pastor Founder. It was revealed that individuals in Benin Republic believed the Nigeria Diocese was trying to take control of the church, this intention of the Benin Republic generated alot of controversy. This resulted in each Diocese establishing separate administrative frameworks, causing division within the church, after the Pastor Founder demise, leaving both Diocese to operate independently.
But in February 2025, a move was made to unite the church under one umbrella. this action was said to step towards rebuilding and reconnecting the church. However, some fear this move is an attempt to shift authority away from the Pastor Founder’s teachings to suit their own agenda. Internal conflicts within the Nigeria Diocese have led to legal battles for the Pastor, with court cases pending that will determine his legitimacy. Instead of focusing on strengthening the church in Nigeria, the Pastor’s advisor has sought attention from foreign lands, neglecting the strong foundation that was built. As the church navigates through these challenges, it is crucial to remember the importance of spirituality and proper administration in guiding its path forward.
