CRISIS ROCKS IFE REGION AS V/S/E JACKSON IS REJECTED

The atmosphere of administrative management in the Ife region has reached a boiling point, with Shepherds expressing their dissatisfaction with the ongoing crisis. The Church authority’s lack of proactive measures to address the illegal establishment of parallel regional heads in Ile-Ife and its surroundings has only fuelled the discontent among the Shepherds.

Calls for a restructuring to combat the hijacking of the system in the region have been growing louder, with allegation rise against the Shepherd of CCC Orisunmibare Parish, Ile Ife, V/S/E Adeniyi Toluwalase of creating unapproved office for himself, instituting some shepherds to join him to against the constituted authority.

Also, the Ife Regional Head V/S/E Alfred Ebenezer Jackson is facing a vote of no-confidence from both Elders and Parishioners from CCC Moore Divisional Headquarters Ile Ife. His leadership style has been criticized as unproductive, unprofessional, and disrespectful towards Elders.

Despite only assuming his duties in August 2024, V/S/E Jackson has already been ousted following a protest letter penned by the Elders of the Parish and submitted to the Pastor. Allegations against the Regional Head include using inappropriate language against parishioners and disrespecting the Elders.

It has been confirmed that the Pastor received a protest letter, which led to a meeting with V/S/E Jackson, the Parochial Committee Chairman and the Secretary. The major complaints were sidelined during this meeting, leading to the removal of the Shepherd chair from the altar as a symbolic gesture of complete rejection of V/S/E Jackson. The actions taken to cover up and support the alleged shepherd were in direct opposition to the Parochial Committee Chairman and Secretary, who were subsequently placed under indefinite suspension from the general congregation on the 17th November 2024.

Additionally, over 50 Shepherds from Olorunsogo Area Headquarters in Ile Ife met with the Pastor on 15th November 2024, seeking intervention in the crisis affecting the region. The Pastor’s involvement in addressing the ongoing turmoil was requested during this meeting.

The events surrounding these meetings and decisions have caused significant upheaval within the congregation and have raised concerns about the leadership and direction of the church. The need for transparency, accountability, and resolution of conflicts has become paramount in restoring trust and unity in our Church.
