The Nigeria Police Force under the supervision of the Acting Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun has taken decisive action in accordance with the Lagos State Criminal Act, which was enacted into law on August 8, 2011. Two suspects namely Badmus Bisiriyu aged 49 and Seyi Afolabi, aged 25 have been charged before the State Magistrate Court in Yaba.
These individuals stand accused of unlawfully attacking on VSE ASO, the Shepherd of CCC Overcomers Parish in Ajah, Lagos along with members of his Parish on June 2, 2023. The heinous and unlawful nature of this attack has drawn the attention of celestial members who have publicly demanded the prosecution of the mastermind behind this ungodly act.
In an exhilarating court arraignment today, August 23, 2023, the two suspects appeared before Mrs. Olatubosun in her courtroom. The three-count charges were read to them outlining the gravity of their alleged offenses.
However, amidst the tension and anticipation, the Magistrate Judge granted bail in the sum of N500,000 along with the requirement of two sureties who can provide proof of eight years of tax payment.
The case has been adjourned until Wednesday September 20 2023 for continuation. This eagerly awaited date will mark another step forward in the pursuit of justice and the restoration of fair hearing.
