A prominent member of the opposition party and former member of the House of Representatives, Ladi Adebutu, has emerged as the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party for the 2027 election in Ogun State.
Adebutu, who previously flew the party’s flag during the 2023 governorship election, emerged as the consensus candidate during the party’s governorship primary held in Abeokuta, Ogun State, on Sunday.
The primary election, conducted through voice affirmation by party delegates and members drawn from the 20 Local Government Areas and 236 wards across the state, was supervised in the presence of officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission.
The Chairman of the PDP Governorship Primary Committee, Afolabi Ariyo, officially led the affirmation process that produced Adebutu as the party’s consensus flag bearer ahead of the 2027 governorship election.
The emergence of Adebutu has again brought attention to the growing involvement of members of Celestial Church of Christ in national politics and leadership. Many faithful believers continue to make meaningful contributions in governance, public service, and nation-building, while upholding the values of discipline, service, and faith.
As another proud Celestial member steps forward in the political landscape, many have described it as a positive development toward the rebuilding and advancement of the nation, praying for wisdom, strength, and divine guidance for all leaders seeking to serve the people.
