Friendship is one of God’s greatest gifts to humanity. True friendship, built on love, trust, shared values and genuine concern for one another, can withstand the test of time. It provides strength in difficult moments, encouragement in times of uncertainty, and joy throughout life’s journey. When friendship is rooted in faith and a shared commitment to doing good, it can become a blessing not only to the friends themselves but also to the people and communities around them.
For over sixty years, Mother Celestial Ojaronke Ogunremi of Celestial Church of Christ, Ibara Cathedral, Abeokuta, Ogun State and Mother Celestial Abioro of Celestial Church of Christ, Horeb Cathedral, Ikeja, Lagos State have maintained a remarkable friendship built on faith, love and service to humanity.
Both women, now in their eighties, are prophetesses, grandmothers and philanthropists who have dedicated significant portions of their lives to the wellbeing of others. They share a common philosophy that caring for the needy and extending a helping hand to those in difficulty are important expressions of Christian responsibility.
Mother Celestial Abioro is a retired nurse who served at the University College Hospital (UCH), Ibadan, Oyo State where she contributed to the care and wellbeing of humanity. Mother Celestial Ojaronke Ogunremi, on the other hand, retired as a Director at L’ Hotel Eko Meridian, Victoria Island, Lagos in the 1990’s, She also was at some point General Manager of Gateway Hotel, Abeokuta back those days during the regime of former Governor Gbenga Daniel.
She had also been a Board member of the Federal Roads Maintenance Agency (FERMA) and also was Chairman, Eko Transport Services Limited, a Lagos State Government Company decades ago. Presently, she is a member of Ogun State Advisory Council.
Beyond their professional accomplishments, both women have continued to touch lives through philanthropy, spiritual guidance, personal support and their contributions to the growth of Celestial Church of Christ.
Their friendship is therefore more than a relationship that has survived six decades. It is a testimony of two women who have walked together in faith while embracing a shared responsibility to make life better for others.
Their story reminds us that true friendship does not merely grow old; it grows deeper, stronger and more meaningful when founded on love, faith and a commitment to humanity.
