In the vibrant heart of Lagos Island, a child of destiny was born into the family of Mr. and Mrs. Otele. This child, destined for global impact, would grow to become Assistant Venerable Superior Evangelist Festus Olusegun Bamidele Otele, a vessel chosen by God to expand His ministry beyond borders.
His birth aligned with the prophetic declaration of Samuel Bilehou Joseph Oshoffa, who foresaw the global spread of the Celestial Church cleansing souls and establishing divine order across the world.
EARLY SPIRITUAL FOUNDATION
From the tender age of six, young Brother Otele displayed an uncommon passion for spiritual matters. Drawn by divine curiosity, he faithfully attended services at CCC Olowu Cathedral, located close to his family home. His parents, recognizing this divine inclination, supported his involvement wholeheartedly.
It was here that the late Baba Are, then Shepherd of the Cathedral, discerned the grace upon his life and nurtured his spiritual growth. His journey continued through CCC Makoko National Headquarters, before he eventually settled at CCC Akoka Cathedral following its establishment in 1975
THE JOURNEY HAS A SHEPHERD
At CCC Akoka Cathedral, his divine calling took deeper roots. Under the mentorship of Late Baba Erinle, Brother Otele joined the Church Workers and began manifesting the gifts of the Holy Spirit. Understanding the importance of balancing spiritual calling with intellectual growth, he pursued Mechanical Engineering at Yaba College of Technology. His spiritual journey reached another milestone when the late Rev. A.A. Bada entrusted him with theological research, particularly comparative studies of CCC doctrines. In obedience, he enrolled at the CCC Seminary under Baba Orovboni, equipping himself for greater spiritual responsibilities.
A DIVINE CALL TO THE UNITED STATES
Seven years before his arrival in America, a prophecy was revealed to members of CCC Providence Parish, foretelling the coming of a Shepherd who would elevate the parish to divine standards.
In 1999, destiny aligned with opportunity as Evangelist Otele won the American Visa Lottery. On April 27, 2000, he arrived in the United States and joined CCC Providence Parish. Though initially focused on providing for his family, divine orchestration prevailed. Through the spiritual insistence of Victor Adewusi, he was called into shepherd leadership. After deep spiritual consultation, he accepted the mandate.
TRANSFORMATIONAL LEADERSHIP AT CCC PROVIDENCE PARISH
Upon assuming leadership, AVSE Otele introduced visionary reforms that transformed the Parish. By divine grace, the church acquired its own property in 2003, accommodating over 200 worshippers. Under his leadership, the Parish experienced exponential growth, spiritually and structurally.
In 2013, a monumental achievement was recorded with the construction of a magnificent, state-of-the-art cathedral in Providence, Rhode Island. This edifice stands today as a testament to unwavering faith, sacrifice, and divine fulfillment. Working in unity with the Parochial Committee led by Evangelist Rotimi Abegunde, the Parish has continued to thrive as a center of salvation, restoration, and spiritual empowerment.
