It isWith a heavy heart that we announce the sudden departure of a beloved member of Celestial Church of Christ, who also held a crucial role as the lead drummer in Alhaji Wasiu Alabi Pasuma musical band.
Brother John Monday Onome, affectionately known as Monday Sakere peacefully passed away on the 21st August 2024 and was laid to rest on the same day. His presence will be deeply missed, especially as he was set to travel to London with the rest of the band.
In a heartfelt prayer session organized in his honour, Shepherds from his Parish led powerful prayers for the departed soul, as well as for his beloved wife and children. Despite being out of the country, Alhaji Wasiu Alabi Pasuma dedicated his time to closely monitoring the proceedings and even took the time to call and acknowledge the significant impact of late Brother John Monday Onome who was supposed to be in the United Kingdom with him. It was a touching and emotional tribute to a truly remarkable individual.
Pasuma said the legacy of Brother John Monday Onome will live on in the music he created and the memories he shared with them all. Rest in peace.
