BEWARE OF FACTIONALIZATION IN OUR CHURCH.
In 1947 when God choose to anoint his Prophet Rev Samuel Biliewu Joseph Oshoffa to launch the salvation of the last boat, he dedicated the assignment to him alone. He prepared him ahead of the task like he prepared David for the Israelites. He spoke with him on the ideals for the Church while he also appeared to Pa SBJ Oshoffa at CCC Makoko Parish, Lagos in the early age of the Church. Papa SBJ Oshoffa & his wife “ Mama Christina” with his close associate Late Baba Bada witnessed the physical appearance of God’s visitation to the Church in 1954.
For 38 years, Papa SBJ Oshoffa piloted the boat with “One Shepherd & One fold” punt, then the Church stood against the evil minded Individuals in our society, the Pastor Founder showed love to each member regardless of their ethnicity & view about the Church, while he preached the importance of the Church to humanity, he encouraged members never to allow personal interest to override the collective interest of Christ in the Church. He gave us the rudiments of worship, he highlighted the functions of basic ordinance to us, he patiently told the elders what to do after his demise, but it is quite unfortunate that we are in a state of factional interest as against the instructions of the Pastor Founder Saint Papa SBJ Oshoffa.
For another 38 years & still counting, the Church has been facing challenges. Some few Elders constantly display their adventure of ownership of the Church with an undercover plan, these few Elders tactically enforce different school of taught to the mindset of the Pastor Founders’ children. Telling them that “the Church belongs to the Oshoffa family”. Presently, we hardly experience the gathering of the children of Papa SBJ Oshoffa, Baba Bada, Baba Ajelekoko etc, when these families stayed together for years at Ketu Mission House during the time of their fathers.
For another 38 years & still counting, these few Elders have instituted various court cases, turn worshippers in Christ against each other just to achieve their primary purpose of authoritarian style of leadership and the few Elders ever justifying their actions with the scripture. Eventually, the Church has different “PASTORS” with their followers.
Currently, the few Elders have shifted their personal agenda of factionalization theory to the door steps of original members in the Church, after successfully dividing the Church structure, with a well executed plan to install themselves in the corridor of authority in the Church for their personal gain, the next plan is to preach negativity to original members in the Church saying that “Ketu Faction member should not attend laying of altar from Omoge Faction Parish”. Like what happened in the United Kingdom Diocese when the HOD asked Celestian members not to attend laying of altar because of faction. Furthermore they’re also push that “Adeogun Faction member must not greet Orovrobi Faction”.
The question to ask ourselves including our Elders is “ Will Faction be the pass mark to heaven on judgement day?
The agenda is to inject hate treatment among the members in the Church, originally these few Elders never loved their Pastors but working against the unity of the church just to sustain their position of authority. We know that time & event will definitely manifest God’s purpose of the Church; but we the concerned, sincere & true believers in Christ must continue to push for reconciliation, repositioning & restructuring of the Church.
We must reject the negativity of “Omoge Member work against Ketu Member” or “ Ketu faction members must not attend Omoge faction Parish”.
