As the Celestial Church of Christ, Providence Parish, New England, USA prepares to celebrate its 38th Adult Harvest Thanksgiving, the Shepherd of the Parish, Venerable Superior Evangelist Olusegun Festus Otele has described this year’s celebration as more than an annual thanksgiving event, but a significant spiritual turning point for everyone who participates.
The third day harvest programme is scheduled to commence on Friday, 14th August 2026 and run through Sunday, 16th August 2026, when the grand finale and Adult Harvest Thanksgiving Service will take place. Themed “ROYAL PRIESTHOOD,” the 38th Adult Harvest is expected to bring members, families, friends and well-wishers together in an atmosphere of worship, thanksgiving, fellowship and spiritual renewal.
Speaking on the significance of the theme, Venerable Superior Evangelist Olusegun Festus Otele explained that the concept of Royal Priesthood speaks directly to the identity and responsibility of every believer.
The theme is rooted in the biblical declaration in 1 Peter 2:9, which describes believers as a “chosen generation” and a “royal priesthood,” called to demonstrate the glory and goodness of God. According to the Shepherd, the harvest should therefore not be viewed merely as a ceremonial celebration, but as an opportunity for believers to examine their relationship with God, appreciate His faithfulness and embrace their calling to live as representatives of Christ.
The Shepherd believes that the 38th Adult Harvest will provide an opportunity for worshippers to rediscover their spiritual identity and understand the responsibility attached to being part of God’s royal priesthood. He noted that being a royal priesthood carries with it a responsibility to serve God faithfully, live a life of holiness, demonstrate love and become a positive influence.
He further expressed his conviction that the 2026 harvest will mark a new chapter in the lives of many participants. “This harvest is a turning point. It is a time to come before God with thanksgiving, faith and expectation. As we gather under the theme ‘Royal Priesthood,’ we are reminded of who we are in Christ and the responsibility that comes with that identity. I believe God will use this harvest to bring spiritual renewal, restoration and fresh beginnings into the lives of His people.”
Venerable Superior Evangelist Festus encouraged members and visitors to approach the harvest with genuine faith and thanksgiving rather than seeing it simply as another church programme. He stressed that thanksgiving provides an opportunity to acknowledge God’s mercy, preservation and faithfulness while also committing the future into His hands. According to him, worshippers should come with open hearts, believing that God can bring restoration, direction, peace and renewed strength into their lives.
Venerable Superior Evangelist Festus urged everyone to come not only to celebrate what God has done, but also to position themselves for what God is yet to do. “Come with thanksgiving. Come with faith. Come with an open heart. This is a season to appreciate God’s faithfulness, rediscover our identity as a royal priesthood and embrace the responsibility of serving Him. I believe this 38th Adult Harvest will be a significant turning point for everyone who participates.”
As Providence Parish, New England, USA prepares to raise its voice in thanksgiving, the message remains clear: the harvest is not merely a celebration of what has been gathered; it is also a declaration of faith in what God is yet to accomplish.
