After the official declaration of Nigeria’s independence and the proclamation of a sovereign state from the British Government, an historic event took place at the Race Course (now Tafewa Balewa Square) in Lagos State on October 1, 2023. Since then, Nigeria has existed as an independent nation for a period of 63 years.
Remarkably, the 63rd anniversary of Nigeria’s independence falls on a Sunday, a day traditionally dedicated for gathering and worshiping the Almighty God. This day holds great significance as it provides an opportune moment to reflect on our nation’s journey.
Under the guidance of VSE Tanpinu Noah, CCC Omo Alade Alafia Parish 1, Lagos will lead a congregational prayer for the restoration of Nigeria. This prayer seeks to liberate our nation from economic challenges, the menace of banditry, the collapse of national security and the unrest in the university sector among other pressing issues. In an exclusive interview with Celestial Prerogative News, the Shepherd emphasized the urgent need for an aggressive prayer campaign to rebuild the Nigeria envisioned by our leaders who fought tirelessly for the unity of our country. The Shepherd further clarified that this service is open to all citizens, regardless of their religious beliefs or ethnicity.
The Patron of CCC Omo Alade Alafia Parishes, Superior Evangelist Pius Olarewaju emphasizes that some of the core principles of their Parishes is to organize special nation prayer sessions, invest in human capital growth, empowering the youth and providing ICT training.
