Tosho Oshoffa is set to lead a delegation to Benin Republic this weekend, where they will continue the meeting held at the Presidential villa of President Talon on 20th February 2025. The previous meeting sparked controversy as Rev Pastor Oshoffa only consulted with his wife and siblings, leading to questions about the legitimacy of his decision-making process without the input of his team.
Tosho Oshoffa will be accompanied by two representatives from Nigeria, André AMOUSSOU and Rodrigue CHABI, as they meet with President Talon as the Chairman. Representatives from the Benin Republic Diocese and Ivory Coast Diocese will also be in attendance. The gathering aims to solidify the process initiated during the initial meeting in February.
It seems that the Nigeria Diocese, under the leadership of Rev Pastor EMF Oshoffa is gearing up to play a high-stakes game. A reliable source has revealed that President Talon has expressed his dissatisfaction with the Nigeria Diocese for allegedly breaching an agreement. This disagreement stemmed from a Press release by Rev Pastor EMF Oshoffa when he returned to Nigeria, denying any agreement to relocate the Imeko Convocation to Benin Republic. President Talon even went as far as blocking members from Nigeria Diocese in attending Agongue between 7th to 9th March 2025. However, thanks to the timely intervention of some respected individuals from Benin Republic, who pleaded for the President to change of heart.
The upcoming meeting this weekend will be led by Tosho Oshoffa, while the non-compliance with the agreement reached on the 20th February 2025 will be discussed, while the Nigeria Diocese plan to establish their claim on the threats that the registered Board of Trustees escalate to establish a legal action against Rev EMF Oshoffa at the Federal High Court in Ikoyi, Nigeria for negotiating with President Talon without their consent. While the team led by Tosho Oshoffa will return to Nigeria with the deceit statement that the Board of Trustees had written a letter of protest to President Talon, urging him not to engage in negotiations with Rev EMF Oshoffa without the presence of a representative from the Board.
Tosho Oshoffa team plans to focus their defence on an article published in Thisday on 2nd March 025, written by Professor Akinterinwa. The article, titled “Res Judicata in Law and Diplomacy and the Emerging CCC Doctrine: The Challenge of Juridico-Political Abuse,” which was penned by an expert in International Relations and the secretary of the registered Board of Trustees. The article expressed personal views on the events within the Church, but there are indications that Tosho Oshoffa’s team will use the publication to discredit the integrity of the registered Board of Trustees.
In a swift clarification of facts, a reliable source from the registered Board of Trustees has refuted the proposed falsehoods that are set to be directed towards the Board. The source stated that if indeed there are plans to tarnish the reputation of the registered Board of Trustees, then the pastoral team is not committed to fostering peace within the board. It is recommended that the delegates of the upcoming meeting be prepared to present the “Protest Letter” for all members of the church to see.
