In response to a recent publication from us (Celestial Prerogative News) regarding activities at 2024 Imeko Convocation, the Imeko Convocation Committee has taken swift action. They have provided a comprehensive breakdown in explaining how the Committee planned and implemented their program.
The Committee Chairman revealed the strategic meetings held with various units, government parastatals including the King of Imeko to further solidify the vision of the Committee. Additionally, the ICC reached out to influential members worldwide, showcasing a commitment to accountability, transparency, and openness in all aspects of the successful 2024 Convocation.
SECURITY NETWORK
When it comes to security, the ICC received glowing feedback on the safety measures put in place during the Convocation. Security units, led by SVMSE Toriola, Director of the Army Band diligently monitored the situation. The Taskforce Committee patrolled the Church grounds, while the Usher Unit focused on the Basilica. Local residents were also enlisted to help with boundary checks, ensuring a secure environment. The collaborative efforts of the Army, NCDC, Road Safety, Police, and Taskforce teams worked tirelessly to maintain order.
In terms of Mercyland, the ICC established a monitoring team and expanded the main entrance, providing canopies for member accessibility. The Mercyland Committee took charge of renting sound equipment for the area. Excitingly, plans for further enhancements to Mercyland are already in the works for the upcoming year.
INSIDE THE BASILICA
The ICC Chairman proudly explained that the Committee collaborated with a top-notch sound company to enhance the audio experience within the basilica. The Committee was thrilled to witness a crystal-clear sound output in front of the Basilica, complete with a high-definition LED screen positioned at the top. This innovative setup allows members who are unable to enter the main building to still enjoy the service. Additionally, the ICC will be addressing any reported audio sound shortages to ensure a flawless experience for all attendees in the coming convocation.
REVOLUTIONIZING INTERNET CONNECTIVITY
The Head of the Committee couldn’t contain his excitement as he shared that the 2024 Convocation featured the best live streaming in the Church’s history, thanks to the exceptional Internet facilities provided by Star-Link Company. The media team of the Pastor also collaborated with the ICC on media announcements, further enhancing the overall experience. Looking ahead, the ICC is planning to extend the LED screen to Mercyland, allowing members to view the service in real-time from anywhere.
SBJ OSHOFFA CUP
The ICC appointed a seasoned sports journalist to oversee the football tournament, which has been a massive success with parishes joining forces to achieve outstanding results. The energy and enthusiasm surrounding the event are palpable, and the ICC is committed to ensuring that the tournament continues to thrive and bring joy to all participants.
HEALTH FACILITIES
The Chairman confirmed that the ICC provided 20 ambulances during the 2024 Convocation. Various medical outreach units were established at Mercyland, with additional check-ups at the Basilica, Pastor’s house, and Founder’s house. The main health unit was located at the Youth Conference, offering members access to medication and healthcare services.
ALLOCATION OF SPACE
The Chairman of ICC emphasized that the committee adhered to a strict process when allocating spaces to vendors. Spaces were not approved for vendors selling alcohol, as the committee prioritized the well-being of attendees. The Chairman noted that unauthorized items were sold by local residents, over whom the committee had limited control.
IMEKO 2024 CONVOCATION PROGRAM
In an effort to uphold transparency and accountability, the Committee provided a detailed breakdown of income and expenses generated for the Convocation. The ICC Chairman expressed gratitude towards individuals who contributed to the success of the Convocation, recognizing their generosity by printing their names and donation amounts.
